When contributing to any charitable organization, due dilligence should prevail in the decision making process. Ask yourself: “does the organization have a reputation for providing support to terrorism?” The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) should be consulted by checking the “Specially Designated Nationals List.” OFAC administers and enforces economic and trade sanctions based on US foreign policy and national security goals against targeted foreign countries, terrorists, international narcotics traffickers, and those engaged in activities related to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. OFAC’s web site is located at:

* The FBI is committed to the fight against terrorism... whichever political party is in power... the FBI is an independent agency within the Department of Justice.
*The FBI doesn’t engage in racial profiling. We have a good understanding of Muslims and Islamic Centers. Our enemy are not the Muslims, but rather the enemy is the terrorist. We are involved in active programs to educate State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies. The FBI is not about targeting Muslims. We want the Muslims to know that we are here to protect them. We also recognize the fact that Muslims are a substantial part of the USA.
* We try our best to meet Muslim leaders to find out about their concerns, so it is expected that they would educate their communities.
* We have the FBI Citizens Academy where we bring in people from the community to be educated about the FBI.
*People should be actively involved in working with law enforcement agencies to help protect this country and its people.
*The FBI doesn’t hold up files because of race or religion. People need to check with the appropriate department to follow up their cases.
