EID MUBAARAK

Al-Hamdulillaah, once more it is time again to celebrate and commemorate Eid-Ul-Fitr. Muslims
from all over the world observe this festival after the end of Fasting/Ramadhaan.
The sacrifice during the past month would have strengthened our Muslims with a sense of mercy, charity and forgiveness.The challenges of the past month, should inspire us to have greater faith and commitment to our family, community and country.

"Eid ul-Fitr" literally means "the feast of the breaking/to break the fast." The festival marks the end of Ramadhaan, the holy month of fasting and is a culmination of the month-long struggle towards a higher spiritual state.Fasting is not only a symbol of sacrifice and purification, but also a measure of self-restraint; to teach humility and patience; and for encouraging compassion for those less fortunate. Charity and worship are particularly emphasized during Ramadhaan.

On the day of Eid Muslims are expected to give alms and begin their celebrations with prayer and food plus family / friends meeting and greeting. In most parts of the Islamic world, Muslims give each other gifts and wear new clothes, children receive money from their parents, relatives and older friends, special feasts are held, and deserts adorn the table for days while families and friends reunite.
